Can You See What I See?
Read-and-Seek Series

by Walter Wick

From the photographer of the bestselling I Spy books and creator of the Can You See What I See? series is a new rhyming, search-and-find reader series--especially for the newest reader! Readers can use the picture clues to search for dozens of hidden trinkets and toys!  This book builds confidence in new readers and provides hours of fun as well!

Our early readers LOVE the I Spy and Can You See What I See series books!  I think it's less intimidating than full sentences and provides a fun alternate way to enjoy a book.  At first we worried that the kids would just look at the pictures, but we've watched them as they look at this book, and are delighted to report that they do indeed work on decoding the words next to the pictures.  We think these books are a must have for early leveled libraries or beginning readers!

Below are the first two spreads from inside one of these books: Can You See What I See? 100 Fun Finds (Read-and-Seek).  All of the books are formatted this way, just around different themes (nature items, Christmas items...) As you can see, for reluctant readers or readers who are intimidated by the 'pressure' of reading so many words, this is a very 'friendly' place to start!
