Bear Hugs
by Alyssa Satin Capucilli; illustrated by Jim Ishi

Baby Bear asks his parents for all kinds of hugs--wet hugs, dry hugs, fly up to the sky hugs--in search of the best hug of all.

This book is part of the Step into Reading series, which entices brand-new readers with rhyme, rhythm, and repetition. The type is big, the words are easy, and the art is bright and bold.

The content of this book is pretty young. Many of our first graders would consider this book too "babyish".  It's an adorable book, but also a bit tricky.  Consider your child's interests before buying this book just because it's an early reader. It will be perfect for some early readers, but not at all a good fit for others, given the cutesy storyline.  Having said that, this would be a very cute bedtime story!
