Why the Banana Split: Adventures in Idioms

Who knew there were so many idioms for 'exit'? This relatively plot-less title comically describes the frantic exodus that took place in one small town when a giant dinosaur suddenly appeared.

The cast of characters is quite nonsensical, but they do fit with the idioms used. For example, a group of jump ropes are shown to have 'skipped town', some astronauts 'took off',"trees took their leaves" or "knives cut and ran".

This book is really part idiom and part pun. Because some liberties are taken with the idioms, we think it'd be a best after a few initial lessons in idioms.
