During WWII, Lily's widowed father over fighting in Europe so Lily moves in with her grandmother, and soon befriends an orphaned Hungarian boy named Albert who moves in nearby. Lily and Albert become close friends, but Lily has told a lie, and that lie might cost Albert his life.
