The Teddy Bear
by David McPhail

A little boy has a beloved teddy bear that he is virtually inseparable from. He sleeps with it and takes it everywhere.... until one day when his beloved teddy bear is left behind. Oh no!

What starts as a familiar story (kids losing a beloved toy) turns into a powerful lesson in the meaning of compassion -- for the little boy in the story and for all little children reading the book as well!

School Library Journal ended their review of this book by saying, "A sweet and gentle blend of favorite and important topics will make this a treasure of a book to be read, reread, and shared."  And Booklist gave the book a starred review.  We think it's definitely worth a read aloud with your kids!
