The Greedy Triangle
by Marilyn Burns & Gordon Silveria

In The Greedy Triangle, a quirky little triangle is tired of being a triangle. He wants to have more sides, so he enlists the help of a shape-shifter to change into a different shape. He tries quadrilateral, pentagon, hexagon...until he finally realizes that what he really wants to be is...a triangle!

We don't love the illustrations, but the lesson is solid. Publisher's Weekly agrees: "If the art as a whole is somewhat jumbled, readers still come away from this volume noticing and naming the shapes...around them."

Teachers will appreciate the section at the back of the book that includes some suggested activities for teaching shapes.

Below is a sample spread from inside this book. We don't love the illustrations in this book, but the geometry lesson is solid and kids seem to get a real kick out of this little triangle that's just bursting with personality.
