Teedie: The Story of Young Teddy Roosevelt

Teedie: The Story of Young Teddie Roosevelt
by Don Brown

Teedie was a sickly and timid child, but he decided early in life not to let this stop him. He worked hard to get fit, and used his endless curiosity, strong mind, and determination to bring his many ideas to life, as well as earn him the presidency.

Author Don Brown has included quotes from the man, which add spirit to his story. And the art shows the joy and passion he had for life. Overall, a great book!

In a starred review, School Library Journal said that the "illustrations add movement and a playful tone to the serious text" and that this text "may well encourage youngsters to learn more about this fascinating figure."  And Kirkus Reviewsended their review by saying "All in all, this is a spot-on introductory book for lower grades."
