Peek Inside:

Below are sample spreads from inside this book:

Each page focuses on a particular sound and shares one or two onomatopoeia words that go with it. For each page, come up with additional examples with your class.
Below is an example of what we mean, using the first two pages as examples:

Left Image
- Read the page to the class. It says "...you could CHOO! CHOO or WOO! WOO! like a train."
- Ask the class what other onomatopoeia words they can think of for a train sound.
- Responses could include CHUGGA CHUGGA or CLICKETY CLACK

Right Image
- Read the page to the class. It says "You could DRIP, DROP, DRIP, DROP like a leaky faucet."
- Ask the class what other onomatopoeia words they can think of for the sound of a faucet.
- Responses could include PLINK PLINK or BLOOP BLOOP
